A-Frame Cabin Build Workshop

Always dreamt of having your own cozy cabin retreat? Join us for an immersive two-day A-Frame Cabin Building Workshop where you'll learn the ins and outs of constructing your very own wood framed cabin nestled amidst nature. Participate in both days to take home a detailed set of plans to recreate the cabin yourself at home!

Workshop Overview: This hands-on workshop is perfect for anyone eager to dive into the world of cabin building - or have a first experience building anything! Hosted by community organizer Jasmine Gavigan and led by builder Seven Arsenault, you'll master the fundamentals of cabin construction from foundation to roofing, using both retail and milled wood. This workshop provides beginners the perfect opportunity to hone your skills with the support of your peers.

Workshop Highlights:

• Day 1 (Saturday, June 29th):
  • Tool Safety Orientation: Learn how to safely handle and use various construction tools.
  • Foundation and Framing Techniques: Dive into the crucial first steps of cabin construction, including foundation preparation and framing with precision. We'll follow plans to build the structure of the cabin together in one day!
  • Optional Fireside Chat: Wind down in the evening with an optional fireside chat about tiny houses, the local area and the Lockheart Community project, where you can exchange ideas and insights with fellow participants.
• Day 2 (Sunday, June 30th):
  • Continued Tool Safety Training: Refresh your knowledge on tool safety to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Wall and Roofing Construction: Roll up your sleeves and delve into wall and roofing construction using high-quality milled lumber and durable steel roofing materials. By the end of Day 2, the cabin will be framed, roofed and nearly ready for camping!

Cost and Inclusions:

• Full Weekend Package: $90 (Includes a set of A-Frame cabin plans.)
  (Note: Free camping available on Saturday for full weekend attendees.)
• Per Day: $50
